Starting fresh

When I was laid off in the beginning of 2016 after the boutique agency I worked for had to let go of all staff, I struggled with what to do with my time. I find purpose in working, I thrive on accomplishing objectives and the idle time between applying to jobs, interviewing and binge watching Game of Thrones was a constant source of restlessness.

At that time, I thought it was best to develop a personal site. To create a space where potential employers could get to know a bit about me, but also a touch of the marketing knowledge I'd accumulated over the years. My blog posts were filled with cliche postings re: sales funnels and curated content with little additional insight or commentary. When the opportunity to join my new company presented itself, the website and blog went dormant. It was long neglected and as I revisited it every now and again, I realized it wasn't serving where I was. Where I am.

I recently joked with some family and friends about a 2019 rebrand. Taking a reflective look and evaluate if I still represented my core values and what I stand for and if my actions were in service of these. With that, it dawned on me that a small piece was my website. Long neglected, perhaps it was time to give it an updated look, and put my desire to learn and to write into action.

It may not come with shiny glitz or flashy additives, but it does come with heart and with a dedication to share not only topics that pertain to the world of marketing, but that intrigue me on a personal level as well.

Welcome - and enjoy!
